ABSTRACT

Consumer behavior can be defined as the activities and the actions of people and organization that purchase and use economic goods and services, including the influence on these activities and actions. Marketers expect that by understanding what causes the consumers to buy particular goods and services, they will be able to determine which products are needed in the marketplace, which are obsolete, and how best to present the goods to the consumers. In the changing digital era, people buying online have drastically increased when compared to offline shopping. Existence of many online platforms has increased the choices for the consumers. It is a common rule in economics, that when there are more choices for the consumer, there is more competition. The online platforms has also developed there specializations like Myntra for fashion, amazon for electronics, big basket for food and so on. This specialization in online platforms has actually given various new factors for the consumers to compare the products. After the arrival of these many platforms, consumers have changed their view over the branding of products. There are consumers who are loyal to the brands in few products and there are also consumers who find only the best deals irrespective of branding. This paper studies the consumer's choices and behavior towards the brands in online shopping in a survey method.

ABSTRACT

Schwannomas are benign, encapsulated and slow-growing nerve sheath tumours arising from Schwann cells. The schwannoma arising from the cervical sympathetic chain [SCSC] is a very rare tumour. It usually presents as a slow growing, painless and asymptomatic neck mass, hence preoperative clinical diagnosis is difficult. Radiological investigation and fine needle aspiration cytology make only a small contribution to its preoperative diagnosis, histopathological examination being much more useful. We report here the first case report of SCSC from Oman. It occurred in a 45 year-old female and was successfully excised

ABSTRACT

Adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis is caused by adenovirus serotypes 8,19,37.Typical signs of adenoviral con-junctivitis include preauricular lymphadenopathy, conjunc-tival hyperemia, chemosis, subconjunctival hemorrhage and follicular conjunctival reaction. Corneal involvement in adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis is variable. Most patients have a diffuse, fine, superficial keratitis with focal, elevated, punctate epithelial lesions which become subepithelial opacities later. We had a 35 years old male who had unusual clinical presentation of adenoviral conjunctivitis in the form of conjunctivo-corneal epithelitis which has not been described in the literature.Patient was managed successfully by conserva-tive treatment alone. Conjunctivo-corneal epithelitis can be unusual clinical presentation of adenoviral kerato-conjunctivitis.

ABSTRACT

To find out the prevalence and epidemiological features of keratomycosis in Chandigarh, the present study was carried out jointly by the Departments of Microbiology and Ophthalmology, Government Medical College Hospital, Chandigarh, over a period of 5 years from January 1999 to December 2003. Corneal scrapings were collected from a total of 154 suspected patients of keratomycosis and were processed and identified by standard laboratory techniques. The study revealed that a total of 64 cases (41.55%) were positive for fungal agents. Direct microscopy was positive in 52 cases (76.47%) and culture in 34 cases (53.12%). Most common fungal isolates were Aspergillus species 14 (41.18%), Fusarium species 8 (23.53%), Candida species 3 (8.82%), Curvularia species 2 (5.88%) and Bipolaris species 2 (5.88%). Thus, hyaline filamentous fungi were the most common etiological agents and mechanical trauma with vegetative matter was the most common predisposing factor. Males in age group of 21-50 years were more commonly affected.

ABSTRACT

Congenital nasal pyriform aperture stenosis [CNPAS] is a recently defined clinical entity that causes airway obstruction in the neonate as a result of narrowing of the nasal pyriform aperture. The pyriform aperture is the narrowest, most anterior portion of the nasal airway, and a slight decrease in its cross sectional area will significantly increase the nasal airway resistance. This entity should be kept in the differential diagnosis of any neonate or infant with signs and symptoms of upper air way obstruction. The CNPAS presents with symptoms of nasal airway obstruction, which are often characterized by episodic apnea and cyclic cynosis
